POST 7: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

In this post I will talk about some changes that I would make to the study program of the architecture career at the University of Chile.

If for the curriculum, rather than changing the branches that are taught, it would change the way in which they are carried out, this would be done first by doing teacher surveys, where students give their opinions about the teachers and thus know what to do Regarding each teacher, since as my own experience, I have had teachers who are no longer in a position to teach, this related to their treatment of students, even reaching verbal violence. Therefore, that would be one of my main changes, to grant understanding teachers who treat their students in a good way.

As a second measure, it would lower the academic load, considering the difficult period we are going through, in addition to the online modality mixed with the face-to-face, it becomes difficult to carry out all the branches without having to be forcibly late, therefore, the ideal would be to lower the number of minimum credits and clearly the number of branches per semester. In addition to restricting the amount of burden that teachers can put on students.

In terms of teaching methods, I would perhaps apply the integration of more assistants, or hours of reinforcement for people who want or cost more, to generate more support and teaching networks.

Considering that we are in online classes, we should provide more help on issues of access to technology, but especially access to the internet, since there are still many students who have an unstable connection or who simply do not have and have to make a lot of expenses to be able to be in this mode.
